The Big Shift Happening in Nail Industry
COVID-19 has shifted every aspect of our lives. From the way we interact with others, to how we spend our money, we have entered a new era. As a nail technician, you can learn from this shift. You can not only bring in more desirable clientele, but you can make your money go further in the process. Here’s 3 simple ways to do just that:
1. Increase your sanitation practices.
Sanitation has been at the forefront of the pandemic, and these healthy habits are here to stay. In a nail salon, clients may be subjected to a host of viruses, bacteria, and fungus. Remember that every surface your client comes in contact with is a potential hazard. This includes the jets in your pedicure tubs and the baskets your tools may rest in. The only way to prevent infection is to clean, sanitize, disinfect, AND sterilize.
2. Expand your clientele.
Clients of every shape and size are bringing new focus to their health and wellness, and you can see this plain as day in the Mindbody 2022 Wellness Trends Report. 65% of Americans in this report believe beauty/ grooming is a part of wellness, while 78% of Americans say wellness is more important than ever. This study also showed a 50% increase in manicure/pedicure services since 2021.
3. Bring in the services people need.
You may have noticed a shift in your clients’ spending habits. As inflation increases, people are less likely to spend money on things they want, and more on what they need. That means less spontaneous mani/pedi trips and more focus on creating healthy nails that last between paychecks.
At CleanSpa, we address each of these from the very start. Our sanitation goes beyond the guidelines set by most Cosmetology State Boards in the country. With our custom, jetless pedicure thrones, quality tools, and autoclave system, we work to kill not only the viruses, bacteria, and fungus, but the spores that linger as well. This provides a security blanket to both our technicians and clients who may have underlying health conditions.
CleanSpa technicians also work directly with podiatrists at Feet For Life Podiatry, creating a symbiotic relationship with the medical team. Just as technicians refer clients to the Podiatry clinic, the clinic refers patients to the CleanSpa technicians for follow-up care. Although our technicians are encouraged to bring in clientele, they are nearly guaranteed to obtain a steady stream of clients without the extra hussle.
Strong, healthy, beautiful nails are at the forefront of CleanSpa’s practice. Acrylics and Builder gels are not used on clients in an effort to prevent fungal and bacterial buildup under the nails. Gentle tools, professional polishes, and eco-friendly products are used to provide the least stressful services possible. Lastly, CleanSpa technicians go through additional training in order to recognize out-of-the-ordinary nail, hand, and foot conditions, so clients can rest assured that they are receiving the best care possible.
The demand for clean nail care is overwhelming. We are now hiring part-time and full-time technicians. Join us today in revolutionizing nail industry standards.
